 What happens during a reiki session?

Your treatment will be in a private room, I will ask you about any particular issues you would like to address or focus on. Then you will lie fully clothed on a massage table. The treatment begins by taking a few deep, relaxing breaths. A typical session runs for 60 minutes during which Laura will gently place her hands on or slightly above your body and travel from head to toe with the intention of moving energy. It is normal to experience the energy moving, by warmth, pins & needles, and illusion-type sensations.

 

What can I expect to feel during a reiki session?

During the session, you might notice a warming sensation in certain areas. In other areas, you might not notice anything at all. Even if you come in with a particular problem area, you may experience a sense of relaxation that affects your whole body. You might even fall asleep during the session!

The best way to get your head around the process of energy healing is to experience it. I can guarantee all your questions will be answered after your first treatment.

 

How often should I have a treatment?

Usually, a subtle improvement is noticed even after the first session. It may take five to six visits to notice a marked improvement. Dis-ease generally begins in the energy field so if we keep our subtle bodies healthy using Reiki, and our physical bodies healthy with good nutrition and exercise, we should be able to remain active and whole. Once the initial issue has been resolved, most people like to have a Reiki session every 4-6 weeks, as part of their wellness regime.

You don't have to, but it is recommended that you try out a session before attending class.

 Who Can Learn Reiki?

Anyone can learn Reiki. The ability to learn Reiki energy healing is a natural human ability that anyone can easily acquire. Learning Reiki does not require the Reiki student to have prior skills, or knowledge, in the areas of energy or alternative healing.

Do I have to want to become a healer to benefit from a reiki training?

No, absolutely not. You will get amazing benefits from the Attunements ceremonies, discussions, and practical application.

Is it safe for a pregnant woman?

Since Reiki is guided by the Higher Power, the Reiki energy will know the condition of the client or student and adjust appropriately. Reiki can only do good. Many pregnant women have received treatments with great benefit to them and their unborn child. It has also been used during child birth. Pregnant women have also taken the Reiki training and received the Reiki attunement with beneficial results.

What Should You Wear to a Reiki Session?

Wear comfortable clothes that you can relax in. Laura recommends dressing in layers so you can add or remove clothing during the session, if needed as it is normal for your body temperature to change during the treatment.

Removing belts, smart watches, taking your hair out and other bulky items before the session will be of benefit.  

If a person is resistant or a non-believer, will they still benefit from a Reiki session?

Yes, the person will still benefit. A person does not need to believe in the effectiveness of reiki in order for it to work. Reiki works for non-believers just as well as for believers.
