My Take on the Nine Year Cycle: A Journey Through the Chakras

I’ve always felt that life moves in rhythms.. periods of expansion, contraction, integration, and rebirth. One pattern that numerology connects us to is the nine-year cycle. From my own personal experience I’ve found these years can mirror the consciousness levels and energetic themes of the chakra system.

Each of the first seven years aligns with one of the seven primary chakras, bringing lessons, challenges, growth, and healing:

1 — Root

2 — Sacral

3 — Solar Plexus

4 — Heart

5 — Throat

6 — Third Eye

7 — Crown

These years guide us from grounding and stability, into creativity, personal power, love, expression, intuition, and finally spiritual connection. By the time we move through a seven year, we’ve completed a full energetic ascent.

So what about the remaining two years?
Yes, there are more chakras beyond the Crown… but I think an easy way to describe an eight year is simply to suggest the aura. The aura is the large electromagnetic field that surrounds us, a full combination of all the chakras blended together and projected outwards.

This is the year where everything you’ve learned (or avoided) becomes more visible:

  • Your inner work is reflected outward.

  • Your strengths and weak spots are easier to see.

  • Old patterns that never fully resolved tend to resurface.

  • Boundaries and energy leaks show themselves clearly.

A nine year is the cycle’s closing chapter and/or integration year. It’s where endings happen, clarity forms, and you begin to release what won’t be coming with you into the next cycle. It’s about tidying up loose ends, finishing what was started, and clearing out whatever you haven’t fully addressed, or karmic ties/patterns. It’s the final opportunity to shed leftover layers from the previous cycle.. not as punishment, but as preparation.

This year encourages:

  • Reflection

  • Forgiveness

  • Closure

  • Letting go of outdated identities or attachments

A natural, necessary dissolving.
Then, we begin again.. returning to the foundation.

A one year brings us back to the Root Chakra, new beginnings, but also the grounding place of stability, safety, and essential needs. This year invites us to rebuild the foundation with clarity. It often shows up in practical, everyday areas:

  • Reassessing finances and creating a budget

  • Checking in with physical wellbeing, routines, and energy levels

  • Organising or grounding your home environment

  • Reconnecting with supportive people or exploring new communities

  • Establishing habits and structures, planting seeds.

  • Saying yes to new opportunities

I also believe that life doesn’t expect us to complete every year or chakra in perfect sequence.

We don’t automatically “level up.”
We don’t graduate just because a calendar page turns.
We have free will.

If something in your life needs deeper attention (emotionally, spiritually, or practically) you might stay in the energy of one “chakra year” longer than expected.

Growth isn’t meant to be forced.
The cycles offer opportunities, not deadlines.
Sometimes we revisit lessons. Sometimes we pause.
Sometimes we circle back before moving forward.
The purpose isn’t to rush through.. but to integrate them.

Which brings us to now… the end of November….
Standing here now with our new, raw, fresh skin..
on the edge of another nine-year cycle..
may the soul open gently to what comes next.

May it welcome the lessons, the shifts, the blessings, and the challenges.
May it walk forward with curiosity, steadiness, and trust. And may it embrace everything that finds its way to us on this next turn of the wheel.

What have you released? How have you grown?

Yoga

Yoga. ⁣
You are my rock, my roots. ⁣
There for me on my best days, ⁣
held my hand through dark days.
Ignited the life back within me, ⁣
kept me sane through the ebbs and flows,⁣
gave me purpose.
Held space for me to grieve when I wasn’t aware I needed to,
invited me back into my own body.
Taught me the truly powerful connection to my breath,
encouraged me to slow down,
and reminded me how quick I can fall without it. ⁣
Like a loyal friend. ⁣
The mat is forever ready for me. ⁣
Welcoming me home, despite time in-between. ⁣

Poetry #1

When I finally let go of that heavy blanket
and took a step forward, a curtain appeared..
a welcoming entrance,
an unexpected door.
Lush, royal ruby drapes,
like a stage awaiting its encore.

I took a deep breath to tidy myself,
preparing to come in - this time, not to escape.
Exhale. My fingertips led the way,
carefully creating a gape.

Greeted by a warm, luminous light
that beamed through -
lucid, like sunset peeking through the window sill
on that first summer night.

It blinded me from what’s ahead,
but warmed my heart instead -
the light, a tender clue,
that all begins anew.

Poetry #2

Each day I slowly pick myself up from that reckoning.
Some days I’ve let a storm brew,
and there are dust and dark debris to collect.
My heart sank with self-pity,
Regret.
I’m louder now.
I’m grounded on my own two feet.
Prana enriches me.
I don’t get knocked down.
I see the coding on the soles of my feet.
A path constantly clearing ahead for me.
Forgiveness to myself, I should have said.
I no longer cry wells, or let you intoxicate my head.

Poetry #3

As that chapter silently ended,
She pulled herself out of that old wound,
And into a new day.
Those sorrows were frightening and holding her back,
They made her afraid.
But there was a new life within her now.
A new spirit,
A new appreciation,
She was ready to be seen,
And to be felt.
Really felt.
With all her grace and gifts,
She realised all she needed to do,
Was turn her gaze within.

Poetry #5

As the sun rose,
I woke, up to..
the habits that kept me in my head.
Ground me to my bed.
Unfulfilled, unaligned, from desires that filled my chest.
I exhaled, change
Untangle me from this mess.
Easier to fade away.
All of this I made.
Surrendered the heavy guilt.
Dismantled chaos I built.
What moved through my veins felt like honey,
A sweetness I never knew,
My mouth became thirsty…
The secret; is in what I actually do.

Karmic Ties, Soul Agreements, and the Art of Release

There are certain meetings in life that feel like they’ve been written in the stars. You cross paths with someone, and in an instant, there’s a deep familiarity. It’s as if your souls have been circling each other for lifetimes, waiting for the perfect intersection.

Karmic ties are real and powerful - I tell ya!

There are certain meetings in life that feel like they’ve been written in the stars. You cross paths with someone, and in an instant, there’s a deep familiarity. It’s as if your souls have been circling each other for lifetimes, waiting for the perfect intersection.

These are not ordinary encounters. They’re catalysts.. people and moments that stretch you, challenge you, and sometimes, break you open in ways you never imagined possible. They’re not always easy, but they’re always purposeful.

When you meet someone who’s meant to awaken something within you or a karmic teacher you just know.. you feel it in your bones. There’s a deep recognition and an immediate unraveling. These connections shake you, stretch you, and reveal every part of you that’s still unhealed. They can trigger your deepest wounds.. yet in doing so, they unlock your greatest growth.

At times, it feels messy. Emotional. Even turbulent. But these are the soul agreements that bring you home to yourself. Each connection - even the ones that break your heart - serves as a mirror, showing you the parts of yourself that are ready to evolve. They propel you into your highest alignment. Always serving a greater design.. a story that was meant to unfold exactly as it did.

There’s a resonance.. a strange mix of comfort and chaos. These connections can create ripples across every area of your life: love, finances, identity, even your health. Suddenly, the familiar dissolves, and you’re standing face to face with transformation.

Even when it feels painful, there’s a strange beauty in it. Because somewhere deep down, you can sense that this isn’t punishment.. it’s initiation.

I’ve learned that the people who come into our lives (even for a brief season) are part of a tapestry being woven beyond our understanding.

Each thread, each moment of connection, adds depth and colour to who we are becoming.

There is an invisible thread that ties these encounters together, guiding us through cycles of meeting, learning, and release. At first, we may resist the unraveling. We cling to the familiar patterns, replaying the stories, trying to make sense of what went wrong. But over time, as healing begins, we start to see that these so-called endings are actually doorways. Each release opens up a new level of synchronicity.. a new chapter of alignment.

One of the most profound tools that supported my journey of releasing karmic ties has been Spinal Energetics.

This modality works beyond the conscious mind.. it accesses the energetic, emotional, and spiritual imprints held within the body.

For me, it felt as though old stories.. ones I didn’t even know I was carrying, began to dissolve.. energies that once felt like spells within my body started to shift. I could literally feel the weight of certain soul agreements leaving my field.

Through each session, I found myself remembering what it feels like to be free.. to be me, without the karmic echoes of the past dictating how I move, love, or choose.

It wasn’t always comfortable. Releasing karmic energy can feel like weathering a storm.. waves of emotion, fatigue, and deep remembrance. But as I surrendered to the process, I began to recognise the beauty in it all….

Looking back, I’m so thankful for that period of my life. It was chaotic, humbling, and full of emotional upheaval. But it also cracked me open to a depth I had never accessed before. I grew through that storm. There were moments where I questioned everything.. but each wave of challenge stripped away another layer of illusion.

Through the discomfort, I began to see myself more clearly. I learned to trust my inner compass, to listen to the wisdom of my body, and to honour the cycles of connection and release.

That time of my life wasn’t something to “get over.” It was something to be lived through. It was an initiation into deeper authenticity.

Now, when I hold space for my clients, I recognise the same energetic patterns.. the soul contracts, the invisible threads, the deep remembering. Because I’ve walked through it myself, I can meet others there, without judgment or fear.

Through Spinal Energetics, I now guide others in releasing what their bodies have been holding.. the old agreements, the emotional density, the karmic entanglements that no longer serve their highest path. Each release brings them closer to who they truly are. And that, to me, is sacred work.

Karmic ties are not curses - they are teachers. They show us where we are still bound, where we have yet to reclaim our power.

When we release them with grace, we don’t erase the story; we integrate it. We take the lessons, the growth, the expansion.. and we let go of the pain.

Life becomes lighter. The invisible thread continues to guide us.. not as a binding cord, but as a luminous line of destiny, leading us home to ourselves. And in that homecoming, everything finally makes sense!

Every soul connection - no matter how brief or turbulent - is a chapter in your soul’s evolution. Some are here to stay. Others come to awaken. All of them matter.

The key is to allow yourself to feel, to release, and to trust that even the hardest stories are part of your becoming.

The 10 Bodies

“If you understand that you are Ten Bodies, and you are aware of those Ten Bodies, and you keep them in balance, the whole Universe will be in balance with you” - Yogi Bhajan
“If you understand that you are Ten Bodies, and you are aware of those Ten Bodies, and you keep them in balance, the whole Universe will be in balance with you” - Yogi Bhajan

You are a total combination of ten bodies, all interlocking.

1st BODY | The SOUL
this is the spark of the infinite which resides in your being
clear vision of what you want to do in your life, so you have reasons to pursue. when you have a mission you’re going to stop self sabotaging because you need that energy. are you connected to your soul?

2nd Body | The NEGATIVE MIND
protective mind which warns of possible dangers and pitfalls, also protective.
the voice that asks do I have enough money to pay my bills? reminds you to look both ways so you don’t get hit by a car. as it comes before positive mind, it will get us into trouble if it gets too strong.

3rd Body | The POSITIVE MIND
expansive mind that instill hope, inspiration and enthusiasm...anything is possible
when you get a thought and it feels too good to be true. that’s your thought, your destiny. AND it’s your job to get yourself there.

4th Body | The NEUTRAL MIND
meditative mind is wisdom, balance and non reactive.
this is why we meditate.

5th Body | THE PHYSICAL BODY
the temple where all other nine bodies play out their parts
you want to make this very strong. we need our 5th body to be as strong as our mind. when you feel strong you can do anything. you want to collaborate, you want to go out and achieve because you feel good about yourself, you don’t hide. if your 5th body is stopping you from achieving your dreams?? c’mon..

6th Body | THE ARC LINE
extends earlobe to earlobe ... this is your halo, where all your integrity is stored
keep your word.
the arc line houses everything you said you were going to do and did, AND everything you said you were going to do and didn’t. you should never say something then have to take it back. communicate better. women have a second arc line (nipple to nipple), as they are designed to have babies. that feeling when you walk into a room and you feel their energy (good or bad), that’s the arc line. it projects 9ft around you.

7th Body | The AURA
the electro magnetic field that projects up to 9 ft in all directions
make decisions that make you feel clear and bright, your projection.

8th Body | THE PRANIC BODY
the life force that is carried on the breath, our connection to everything is praana
if it’s weak you will experience low level anxiety, fatigue, look for energy from food/stimulants. mood is blaming, defensive and unbalanced. balance with pranayama and vigorous exercise.

9th Body | THE SUBTLE BODY
perceptual ability to sense the universal and infinite reality, your intuition
if it’s unbalanced you will be naive and easily fooled. your intuition showed you what would happen. listen.

10th Body | THE RADIANT BODY
gives spiritual royalty & radiance
sits on top of your aura. how you treat yourself is how others treat you. keeping your word will brighten your magnetism and wattage of this body.
